Profile & Background
I'm Christophe Pinto de Almeida Soares, an Associate Professor at University Fernando Pessoa (since 2023) and a researcher at the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science (LIACC) at University of Porto (since 2017). I have been a researcher at UFP since 2009 and a member of the Scientific Council of its Faculty of Science and Technology since 2024.
I also serve as the Program Director of the BSc in Computer Engineering at UFP, where I oversee curriculum development and academic quality for our undergraduate program.
I hold a PhD in Information Sciences — Information Systems and Technologies (2010 – 2016) with the thesis “Interference-free Integration of Commercial Off-The-Shelf Components in Pervasive Computing Systems”, an MSc in Computer Engineering — Mobile Computing (2007 – 2009) with the dissertation “LoCoBoard — Quadro interactivo de baixo custo recorrendo a algoritmos de visão por computador”, and a BSc in Computer Engineering (2002–2007), all from University Fernando Pessoa, plus Stanford University courses in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (2010–2011).
My research area is Engineering Sciences and Technologies — Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering. To date I have supervised 199 student works, from BSc final projects to PhD theses, and served on 56 examination panels.
