Forearc Basins
As it is the case in the large majority of the forearc basins, which are located between the accretionary wedge, induced by the compressional tectonic regime associated with a B-subduction zone, and the volcanic arc, this tentative geological interpretation, strongly, suggests not only that the sedimentary column is deep water, but its thickness is too small as well. In other words, in the majority of the forearc basins, even is there is some organic rich sediments, the organic matter is immature by lack of burial. The water column has no influence in then maturation of the organic matter.
