NE Greenland Offshore
On these autotraces apart from the obvious evidence of a seamount and the probably presence of a fossilized volcano, just the unconformity at the top of the SDRs (lava-flows), by the sediments deposited during the post Pangea continental encroachment stratigraphic cycle. Seamounts are large geologic land-forms rising from the sea floor without reaching the sea level, that are general formed from extinct volcanoes. Volcanic plugs or necks may be visualized as the fossil remains of the interior of a volcano, which may stand up in bold relief since the volcano becomes inactive and eroded.
