Select the first letter of the word from the list below to jump to appropriate section.
Then, clicking on the chosen term, you will get a statement of its meaning, which, often, is illustrated by a tentative interpretation of de autotrace of seismic line, a cross section, a sketch or a photograph. Terms in underlined (in blue) are cross-referenced to terms defined elsewhere in the glossary.
On the top and bottom of each page (A to Z), there are navigation buttons to return to the top of the page (Go UP) or the homepage (Go Home).
NB: The purpose of this glossary is to promote a common language for salt tectonics and to illustrate the terminology and basic concepts by , cross-sections, autotraces of seismic lines, sketches and photographs. Due to confidential reasons, the locations and orientations of the original seismic lines and cross-sections are, often, not indicated. Some of the proposed tentative geological interpretations of the autotraces are not calibrated, so, they can be, eventually, falsified. The only responsible of the proposed tentative interpretation is the author.
